Proud To Be GreenPro Certified
The GreenPro label certifies the highest standards of environmentally conscious pest management. We offer a variety of responsible pest management services. They are effective methods that address your concerns about controlling pests while also addressing concerns about protecting the environment. This means we will treat your business with services and practices you can feel good about.
Griffin Pest Solutions is proud to be QualityPro certified, which requires criminal background checks, pre-employment physical, drug screening and a whole lot more. Griffin Pest Solutions incorporates education, inspection, identification, sanitation, exclusion, communication, biological and mechanical means of control, and as appropriate, specific pesticide application. Environmentally responsible pest management is not necessarily more expensive, but it does require our technicians to have greater knowledge and skills. Griffin Pest Solutions is proud to be certified by the National Pest Management Association an environmentally responsible business.
What role does pest control play in earning LEED certification?
For existing buildings looking to obtain Existing Buildings Operations & Maintenance (EBOM) certification, there is an opportunity to earn 1 credit for “Indoor Environmental Quality.” EQ Credit 3.9: Green Cleaning: Indoor Pest Management.
An additional credit is available through “Sustainable Sites.” SS Credit 3: Integrated Pest Management, Erosion Control, and Landscape Management Plan. (This category refers to outdoor integrated pest management that must be combined with indoor pest management programs. Griffin’s structural pest services protect the immediate exterior of the building. Due to this, the program has been designed to comply with SS Credit 3.)
Griffin Pest Solutions may also be able to help earn additional credits through “Innovations in Operations”. This can offer up to 4 additional credits. To qualify, this means the implementation of “significant and measurable environmental performance” in other ways not specified by the LEED program.
There are two factors that determine whether additional credits for Innovation are earned
1. Griffin Pest Solutions can show that our IPM plan includes items that go beyond the basic minimum requirements of the credit and bring additional environmental benefits. For example, bar coding monitors and areas of the building and providing a “paperless”, or electronic, record of services, materials applied, reduction in pest population counts, etc. with the obvious environmental benefit being reduction of paper.
2. Attitude of the evaluator – as this point assignment is somewhat arbitrary, it will be largely determined by the evaluator’s perception of the innovation and importance of IPM plan to the overall certification.
